Tsum Valley Trek - 18 Days

Upon arrival in Kathmandu Airport, warm welcome by representative. Drive to hotel and check in. There will be a welcome dinner in the evening hosted by our company.

Today you will take a half day guided Kathmandu sightseeing of World Heritage sites. You will be visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swoyambhunath Stupa.  After the sightseeing, we will be doing the necessary preparation for the trip. You may also wish to buy some trekking gears such as Jackets, hats, t-shirt, walking stick, trekking bags etc which is easily found near your hotel.

After breakfast we will drive to Soti Khola which is the starting point of our trek. The drive is around 8 hours from Kathmandu. We need to cross Dhading Besi and then later from Dhading Besi, there will be some bumpy and off-road drive to Soti Khola.

Today we will start early for our trek which will be around 6 hours in duration. The path to our destination will be full of ups and downs as we walk through the rocky terrain, passing many beautiful waterfalls. We will also pass by a small village of Gurung community before reaching our destination Machha Khola (River).

As we trek today we will cross Machha Khola and Korla Besi to reach Tatopani (Hot Srping) and follow a forested area to reach Dovan. From Dovan you can see a massive river Budi Gandaki flowing under you. Continue walking till we reach our destination Jagat.

Today the walk is very interesting as we will pass by gorge, waterfalls and beautiful rhododendron forest. We will trek to Salleri through a rocky ridge and trek down to reach Sridibas. We will pass by a Gurung village called Philim and rest for a while. Later we will walk toward Chisapani crossing the gorge and a beautiful waterfall and rhododendron forest toward Lokpa.

Today is a long and a tough trek day as we need to ascent most of the time. The trail has beautiful views along with a beautiful village of Lungwa Khola (River) passing through pine forest. With beautiful sceneries, it is a rewarding trek although a tough one. We will then reach the lower part of Tsum Valley which has a Gompa and a small village.

Today we will trek around 5 hours in which we will cross suspension bridge to reach a village name Gho. On the trek we also enjoy the spectacular views of Ganesh Himal. Continue walking and we will reach Chokangpro where will be stay tonight.

After breakfast we will start our trek which has quite some ascents during the trek. Along the way we will reach Nunnery Gompa and explore the Gompa. The trail is full of Buddhist Monasteries before reaching our destination Nile.

Today we need to trek around 4 to 5 hrs to reach Mu Gompa. The trail to Mu Gompa has some Tibetan influence as the Tiber border lies close to the trail. Reach Mu Gompa and overnight.

Today is a rest day for us to rest and relax or explore the Mu Gompa area. We can walk around and explore the beautiful landscape and also visit Mu Gompa which is one of the largest Monasteries in the region.

Today we will trek to Burgi village which is a small village in the region of Tsum valley. Before reaching Burgi village, we will climb up to Milarepa cave which has excellent views of Kipa Himal, Churke Himal and Poshyap glacier.

Today we will trek back the same way as earlier to reach Chumling, the lower region of Tsum valley. The trail walk is beautiful due to the presence of Pine and beautiful rhododendron forest.

We will trek back to the Gurung village of Philim where we will stay for the night. The trek will take us around 6 hrs to reach Philim.

As we will trek back to the same route which we started, we will trek back to Jagat and Dovan to reach Tatopani (Hot Spring). You can take a dip in the hot spring in you want. It is believed that taking a dip in the hot spring helps to relieve muscles and body aches and make you refreshed and relaxed. After Tatopani we will trek to Khorla Besi and overnight.

We will trek back the same route to reach Soti Khola. Today the trek will take us to lower elevation as we descent in most of our trek to reach Soti Khola.

Today marks the end of our trek as we will drive back to Kathmandu. The journey will be by the same way that we had taken before. Reach Kathmandu and check in to your hotel. You are then free to rest and relax. In the evening we will proceed for a farewell dinner with cultural show in a traditional Nepalese restaurant hosted by our company to celebrate the successful completion of the trip.
